Senior Director of Hispanic Initiatives 

12/16 – present 

As Senior Director, Hispanic Initiatives, I produce, create and curate video and multimedia content targeting the US Hispanic audience across all ESPN and ESPN Deportes platforms in both Spanish and English. 

 Responsibilities:

-lead the creation of video and other multimedia content to enhance ESPN’s outreach with the Hispanic Audience

-identify and develop ESPN Deportes Radio and ESPNDeportes.com talent and expand their roles across platforms in both English and Spanish

-align with the VP & GM of ESPN Deportes, championing and educating the organization on the most effective philosophy and approach to engage and serve the US Hispanic audience 

-identify strategies to expand, enhance and differentiate ESPN Deportes’ cross-platform content offerings;

-partner with internal teams to support execution of key initiatives around Sports Calendar events, especially cross-departmental multimedia projects;

-partners with the Sales team to maximize sponsorship opportunities, tied to content

Senior Director, Multicultural Content                              11/14-12/16

Design and develop a new unit focused on identifying, informing and educating on opportunities to expand the production of content to include multicultural audiences with an emphasis on the U.S. Hispanic community.. Assignments expand the Digital and Print team’s concerted efforts to serve all sports fans around the world.

-Develop and lead strategies in the workforce, workplace and marketplace in order to grow ESPN’s brand to be inclusive and reflective of diverse audiences resulting in meeting business objectives

-Partner with editorial leaders in Mexico and Latin America as well as ESPN Deportes to grow coverage of sports internationally

-Drive content across all platforms; explore external partnerships to do the same
-Assist in recruiting and developing talent

Diversity & Inclusion Media Specialist                               1/11-Present

Bilingual Diversity & Inclusion expert with 10+ years of experience coaching leaders in developing outreach initiatives resulting in growing cultural sensibilities and business.
-Lead the development and execution of programs increasing awareness and cultural proficiency of media and academic professionals (ex. NBC, ESPN)

-Lead producers, on-air personnel, production and remote staff in the editorial planning and execution of daily programs such as SportsCenter, NBA Tonight, College Basketball Live and NFL Live
-Hispanic Initiative Champion consulting several department leaders on short and long term projects which expand ESPN’s brand and business by better serving the U.S. Hispanic sports fan

As President of NAHJ, I lead the Board of Directors in the planning and execution of projects benefitting members and sponsors.
-Champion and protect NAHJ’s mission of the fair treatment of Latinos in the workplace and media coverage
-Provide sponsors with strategies to meet their business goals and objectives
-Oversee the production of regional and national conferences to nurture relationships between local chapter and national board leaders, enhance programs, training and networking events for members

Production: Administered the mission and tactical operations of a multiplatform local content organization (News, Entertainment, Commercial).
Marketing: Lead the strategic development of all viewer-focused marketing to build the Telemundo 47 brand and drive audience tune-in/usage of its various platforms.
Sales: Conducted innovative multiplatform initiatives to support Sales team in generating revenue (product integration, promotions and sponsorships).
Network: Conceptualized the production of content relevant to a national audience for News, Sports and Entertainment Programming.
Operations: Directed the investing and implementation of new technology to improve on-air product, comply with operational financial goals and enhance the skills of personnel.
